Tarnya Fitzgibbon

Tarnya Fitzgibbon is the Director of Acro Town Planning.  Tarnya is a Registered Planner with the Planning Institute of Australia.  She has over 20 years’ experience in the planning, environment and development industry.  Tarnya is a Member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand and is currently undergoing the process to become a Certified Environmental Practitioner.  She is also a part time practicing solicitor (Special Consultant) specializing in Planning and Environment law.  Her main focus on planning has been development assessment and assisting clients to obtain the necessary planning and environment approvals for their business operations.  Tarnya has extensive experience in due diligence reporting in the resources, agribusiness, financial and property sectors.  She has experience in all aspects and types of developments including master planned residential developments, commercial, industrial and rural uses.  Tarnya has extensive experience in local government and understands the processes and procedures surrounding development assessment in local governments. 

Her areas of expertise include: 

  • Development assessment 
  • Advising on development proposals and obtaining approvals
  • Strategic planning and reviewing planning schemes 
  • Acting for submitters 
  • Due diligence reports with respect to planning and environmental approvals 
  • Development compliance issues 
  • Director’s liability for planning and environment offences 
  • Infrastructure – infrastructure charges, conditioned requirements for infrastructure and infrastructure agreements 

Out of the office 

Tarnya enjoys nothing more than pottering around her little farm on the weekend, with her two very spoilt furbabies, Pugsey and Scruffy.  She also enjoys playing sport and watching sport (especially cricket).  Tarnya can often be found listening to late 90s Australian rock music and is the self-proclaimed number 1 Powderfinger fan.
